⚡️2020 ⚡️

Wow this year has definitely thrown us some curveballs!

With Covid causing the world to go into lockdown, this has had a major impact on import/export and everyone is really starting to feel the effects with sea freight now, just in time for Christmas 🎄 ☹️

As you may have been aware, the container we are waiting on at the moment with all of our pre orders was due in October. It was then pushed to November and now December. The first problem was finding space on a ship to NZ as they were all full. Most ships en route to us go via Australia to unload their containers first.  Their freight was being prioritised because of the massive backlog post covid. This resulting in leaving no space for New Zealand shipments and the cost skyrocketing well above what we usually pay. 

Then there were the huge strikes at the Australian ports which seen hundreds and thousands of container ships being turned away. If you follow any Australian businesses that import, you will know the crazy delays they have been facing. Even the massive companies like Kmart & Aldi are struggling to get shipments in. Once back up and running, as mentioned above, Australia are now getting priority to clear the back log, causing a massive chain effect!

Our containers go from the port in Jakarta to Singapore, the port in Singapore is the busiest and most congested port in the world. Not only is it holding most of the backlogged containers, but also everyones Christmas stock (add the busiest shipping time of the year amongst the chaos 💥).  We finally got our container space on a ship and it then got stuck in Singapore waiting for space to NZ.

The current ETA into Tauranga port is the 3rd of December. I am crossing my fingers and toes we have no further delays, but we have been advised to prepare for the worst and to expect more as Tauranga port is heavily congested at the moment ☹️

We also have another container on the way with our new cabinets from the Santorini Range, also a re-stock of the Frankie day beds, Coco bed, Archer Cabinets, Lola chairs (adult + child) & dolls highchairs. We have new wall hooks,  plant stands, bunny chairs and our wall mounted bunny.  We also have 2 new coffee tables coming in this shipment as well as the full length arch mirrors.

In light of all of the shipping delays, we have decided, going forward we wont open any more pre orders until the container has left Singapore and is on the water to us here in NZ.  

We have never experienced delays like this before and it has, hands down been the hardest time to be in business.  There has been stress, there has been tears, even times where I have thought about giving up. Having to send the dreaded “SHIPPING DELAYS” email to all our pre order customers multiple times has been heartbreaking 😢 But at the end of the day I have to think we are not the only ones effected by this, the whole world is. It is completely out of our control so we have just try to stay positive. My heart goes out to all of the other businesses effected by this.

I am so thankful to have the most beautiful and understanding customers. The DMs, comments and emails of support I have been sent in the past few months as we have navigated this tough time has been heart warming. They most definitely don't go unnoticed, and give me all the positive vibes to push through.  

So thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart for being so patient and supportive. It really means the world to me.
