Creating a beautiful children's bedroom isn't just about how it looks, it's about designing a space that encourages independence, creativity and confidence.
As a mum of two girls, Montessori has always been something close to my heart.
Both of my daughters attended Montessori, and I loved seeing how the environment encouraged them to explore, make their own choices and learn through play.
1) Display Books Front-Facing
One of the easiest Montessori principles to adopt is making books accessible.
Our Rattan Bookstand was designed with this in mind. It keeps books beautifully displayed at a child's height, encouraging little ones to browse, choose and return their own books.
Our Rattan Market Stall isn't just for pretend play, it also doubles as beautiful
Montessori-inspired storage.
The separate compartments are perfect for organising loose parts, pretend food, craft supplies or favourite toys, while the spacious lower shelf fits baskets beautifully to keep additional toys neatly tucked away.
3) Encourage Imaginative Play
Open ended play is one of the foundations of Montessori learning.
Our Child's Doll Play Range encourages imaginative play. Whether children are caring for dolls, setting up a nursery or creating little family adventures, they're developing creativity, language skills, empathy and confidence through everyday play.
At Inkah, we believe children's spaces should be just as functional as they are beautiful. Our handcrafted rattan collection is thoughtfully designed to encourage independence, organisation and imaginative play, while creating calm, timeless spaces your family will love for years to come.
